One more thing... and this might have been brought up a million time before but, If the GT had a 5.7L it would produce 322hp.

Are you crazy? Where the hell did you get this from? Did someone take a 5.7 liter GM motor, put it in a GT, then dyno it? Did they bore the egine? GM's new Caddy with a 4.6, that's right 281 monsterous cubic inches, produces over 320hp.

HP per liter... the cadillac's got variable valve timing on DOHC along with a 10.5:1 compression uh that's not exactly the same engine as a GT is it?

LS-1 roughly 55 hp per liter
4.6 SOHC GT roughly 57 hp per liter
therefore if the LS-1 was as "efficient" as the 4.6 GT it should produce 325
I was just stating that the only reason the LS-1 is more powerful is more cubes and not because GM are the gods of find hp in engines

2000si I posted the link if you want to say it's not correct... fine, but I was just repeating what it said.
I never said it was the same engine....same displacement.

Hmmm....Honda S2000 2.2L 240hp....that = 109.09hp per liter. Now, let's say that car had 5.7L, does that mean it would make 626.43hp? The LS1 is a superior hp producing engine than that of the GT. Now the new DOHC 32V Cobra is a different story, but hell, GM did that back in the 90's with a 405hp N/A ZR-1.

Wow I didn't realize an 02 LS1 was damn near $30k, that's nuts... more than a mach 1 even, with only 5 more hp. I got my GT with rebate for 21K and if I put in 9k that I saved by not buying a 'maro... goodbye ellis. Did GM have rebates on the Z28 that year?

Find them on Ebay for cheaper, just because you want a certain car doesn't mean you have to buy it brand spankin new from the lot. and WHICH Ls1, there are a couple of them darling...

I thought I heard thier not making the Camaro after 02 and coming back maybe in 05. I'll look it up.
Yeah I heard that too. My dad told me about them coming out with some 700HP Camaro, its prolly BS but we'll see...

Well now, I am not going to quote all of you that said racing from a roll is the stupidest **** ever, BUT who makes a dead stop on the interstate to race? NObody and if they did! They are DEAD! Now I am sure there are plenty deserted highways out there that allow you to reach over one hundred, but not many. Another thing, for all you boys who like Turbo Mustangs, racing from the dig would be stupid, if you really want to kill the guy race from a roll so your turbo is spooled up. Turbo ANYTHING. But, some of them do race from the dig, plus hey what can you do at the track? You have to be at a dead stop. But on the street, who the hell wants to go "light to light"? Thats for pussies or people who are just learning to race their car. Go to the interstate or deserted highways where 150+ is reached, thats where the big boys play. And as for cars who have a hard time hooking up, like Supras or just plain old powerful cars with ****ty hook up, um like a Cobra? Can we say ****ing wheel hopper anyone? Seen too many rear ends just go POW... BUT, I am done here, nice thread, nice vid(s).
The big boys play on the highway? You mean the idiot boys. Key word there BOYS. If you are regularly racing to 150 + MPH you are a complete idiot. Have a tire blowout at that speed or something else go wrong. You do not own a car that was built for this kind of abuse.

I will not say I havent been to 150 MPH on a public road, but racing to 150 MPH is dangerous as hell, no matter what you do. I have never raced anyone over 120 MPH, and I have only done that once. Afterwards I realised how dangerous it was, even only to 120 MPH.
