What does driving a 5000 hp top fueler have to do with knowing what a heads and cam vette is capable of?

Exactly. Some drivers dont know jack about the cars they race. They're just good drivers.
And knowing cars doesn't mean you know what each mod will do to any given car.

You can make close to 100hp on a 5-0 motor with just heads, right? So being conservative, if you made 100hp out of heads and a cam on that Vette motor, you're working with 450hp, and 300 less pounds.

If he's truly a professional golfer, he can talk it over with me. I'll at least know weather or now he has any idea what's talking about. I played golf for 4 years in high school and played a couple mini tour events. Just let me know when he wants to talk it over. If he's a scratch golfer like me, he'll know what he's talking about.

Well, I guess I have to put in my 2 cts. Yes the vette is fast but so is the Cobra, No matter who wins someone has to bitch and whine. But!!! the vettes can run extremely fast w/ just a h&c package. I have personally seen it. 2001 vette, h&c w/ LS1 edit programming, and a bad clutch and bent shifter vs. 03 Cobra w/ pulley, CAI, full exh F2R, chipped, plus what ever else he had. They raced on our 1/8th mile 3 times in a row. the vette ran 8.02-3's while the Cobra was running 8.14-6's. The Cobra guy took it very personally and was intent on beating the vette. Many of us thought is was funny as hell, including the friends of the Cobra owner. Granted the Cobra still had more mods available to add, from what his friend said but he hasn't bought them yet. So the Cobra guy will go back, bolt on more stuff, beat the vette next time, then vice versa, Whoopdie-doo. Cobra goes more boost, vette goes more cubic inches staying n/a. they still run side by side. Boost the vette???? SEE YA!!!!!!!

They are very good out of the hole, but anyone here can atest to good launch, whether it be Cobra or vette, when the torque sets the car in motion and the hp takes over....good bye STi. it was proven last Wed nite at our track. STi ran against 04 Cobra, both bone stock, STi had a 1.5 60'. the Cobra, 1.9 - the Cobra caught him at the 330' and kepta pullin. GOD forbid if it were a 1/4 mile. The Cobra could have probably turned around to meet him at the finish line...lmao

Nah, I still believe there was more to the vette than mentioned. Just my opinion though.

Na... think about it... a supposivly about 450 hp vette... and a cobra with some mods... Yeah the vette pulled real hard, but the guy in the cobra couldnt drive worth a **** either.

I dont think anyone here is going to argue that the vette is going to win that.. its just a question by how much. And if the cobra had a ****ty driver its going to get destroyed.
