GTO are slow and heavy now, but the Mustangs are so light and fast. I hate when you take cars that are close performers, and depending on where the forum discussion is........the other is a slow pig. It takes a special edition Mustang to even run with their ordinary GTO. Obviously he had driving issues because the GTO should be a mid 13's car all day long. As for 15,s, dont be stupid. I could casually drive a GTO to 15's. My S10 is in 15's.

Good Kill! 13.678 is a respectable time for the Mach 1

BTW the GTO driver sucked or something went wrong, you had him off the line big time, but he should of caught you at the end. Most Stock '05 GTO's are running 12.9 to 13.3 with decent drivers.

Yea......you like barely beat him, and that guy got a really bad launch. Stock 05s run a a real low 13, so he must have been a bad driver.

We are running on a totally unprepped track, 14 ft uphill from start to finish at 1250 ft elevation.
I actually think I get better traction on the street than the track.

When the guys here in Germany take their cars back to the States most run .5 quicker in the States.

The driver is young and still learning, he's run about 10-15 times.

My automatic Mach is not stock, and his manual GTO at the time was.

My best stock time on the same track was a 14.058 and his best stock time is a 14.271

I think the Mach and GTO are pretty evenly matched, depending on driver, track conditions and whether it's a slowmatic or manual.

then again it could be the camera angle OR if could be the fact that they took off at different times...at most tracks the R/T doesn't affect the outcome. It starts whenever you take off.
Here's the numbers off the time slips:

------------Mach------GTO
R/T--------.608-------.901
60 ft------2.125------2.203
1/8 et----8.885------9.286
1/8mph--82.12------77.59
1/4 et---13.675-----14.271
1/4mph-101.35-----113.92 (lol light was messed up in that lane for mph)
winner .889
