Exciting Moment at Shenandoah (video)
BMW blew a power steering hose (I'm guessing) right in front of me at the exit of Big Bend. Made for a bit of a pucker moment.
Spent two fantastic days at Summit Point Raceway, Shenandoah Circuit this past weekend with Track Daze. During the 2nd session on Saturday I was following an E36 BMW 325 when it went up in smoke. I got caught up in the oil at about 80. Fortunately there wasn't a whole lot of oil, just enough to cause a quick slide...it could have been much worse. The image below is a track map of Shenandoah. The blue dot is approximately where it happened. You are WOT at that point.

On a separate note - I tried out a set of scrub slicks from the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series. Sweet tires! I've been told they are basically Hoosier R6's with a layer of extra rubber (they are an endurance tire). Plenty of grip that lasts the whole session. They don't get greasy like some R-comps (Nitto for one). For 100 bucks a tire whats not to love.

Nice catch!
I had an Acura start blowing blue smoke as we went into turn 1 at VIR. Fortunately there was no oil but it was a little scary trying get around the corner and trying to get over to the outside in case it did spread oil.

Brad, good catch! Always been impressed with your driving...especially after that ride along last year.
Glad the slicks worked out for you. I haven't had a chance to run mine yet, nor will I this year. Maybe next year, though. Have your times improved? What were you running...like 1:40 before?
