Call all jap cars rice, that designation started in the 80s. I'll stick with it. Although today they refer to the wings and body kits as rice...either way, it's a jap ricer. I'm not knocking it, STI's and EVO's are bad azz....I wouldn't mind owning one.

STIs and WRXs are really popular around here, AWD DD with good horsepower. a modded sti was a good race for my modded '07 GT depending on what was done. in my 2012 GT though none of them stood a chance. There is still 1 subaru that ran faster than me at the dragstrip here. an '01 impreza went 12.0@114. The rumor is the guy has 60k-80k in that car. He is into the road course racing, sets up meets on the local course.

Even with the DA? That's surprising... a lot of those cars around here are running pretty fast times and they don't suffer near as bad as the n/a cars do with your conditions.

thanks guys! and yeah this was a wrx, not a sti and it only had a few mods. gotta say i love their exhaust note though.

@s8er01z yep, the next fastest sti went 13.5@99mph, stock turbo, custom tuned, stage 2 and bigger intercooler, various other little things. fastest evo i've seen reported was an evo 9, 13.4@102. I have one of the faster N/A street cars at the track, although a '68 camaro went 10.9@121 I think i heard he has a 600ci engine. all the other street cars that are faster than me have f/i, but i'm sure some just aren't on our list.

@iceguyb14, I agree, the wrx and sti's have a really good exhaust note for a 4 banger. I have heard some sound bad from a crappy muffler, but done right their exhaust sounds good.

there's always one thing in common with the 4 cylinder turbo cars, once modified they always start to smoke from the exhaust and blowing up within a year or two. Saying that, I'm always amazed at how fast they get down the track. They are really engineered well to produce the most efficient power. Although,i would be scared to spend 37K on one.
