Follow the steps. Step 4 is where the speedo goes all the way to max. You need to take your pic quick though or you'll have to start all over again.

also does it when your battery has a bad cell. Happened to me last month. Battery had a cell going bad, anytime I started the car (Barely would turn over then catch) all the guages would flip to the right and if I happened to have my finger on the odo button, I could make it stick in the diagnostic mode.
