Street racing comes with lots of risks, including that of getting busted by the fuzz.

You guys ever seen or been to a stretch of road closed down by the cops just for street racing for a few hours?

I live in the area and the first spot they were at was on the I-35 service road. It is actually in Moore. I recognized the store across the highway. The Oklahoma highway patrol driving on I35 is who stopped.

Don't know where the second place was.

There's been talk of opening a sanctioned area for this kind of thing in Detroit, right near the city Airport. Nothing official yet, though. It would be great if they did; there's no need to terrorize locals in the name of fun.

Speeding within reason, or a little power display I still do as safely as possible at 74, but street racing is simply selfish, childish & wrong! I have no pity for a person who gets their car seized when involved in street racing in any area where innocent people could be harmed. I nearly had a wreck I would have most likely died or been crippled for life in as a teenager in a hot Chevy! I finally got the message! I've heard they have "Drag Strips" now! If you don't care about a coffin, or wheel chair for life, at least care about other people you might hurt.... like your family! Sound like I'm preaching? Too damned bad! Grow up!
