I have a 1989 mustang lx with the 2.3. All my friends give me a hard tim because its really slow and i just wanted to know if any of you guys have ever built an SVO or built just the 2.3. Any tips would be helpfull. I cant take the teasing coming from a kid with an import so please help me.

I had a 2.3, that thing wouldn't do 80MPH if I threw is off of the empire state building so I know what you mean. - after that 89 2.3 I bought a 90 lx....what I SHOULD have done was convert the damn 2.3 with a nice 347..... my 2.3 was a notchback, great interior and in mint condition.....you would just have to start accelerating 1/2 hour before you actually intended to move.</P>


I don't know how ur budget is, but you know what.....you can still do it nice and slow.....stick with your 2.3 and keep getting teased (you can take it......buy your parts slowly and pack em away....then do your conversion....you'll like it..</P>

There is one prbolem. My dad was a mechanic for about 20 yrs and hes a hard ***. He told me he would swap another 2.3 but not the 5.0. So I dont know what to do.

oic......yep....big problem....2.3 (even turbo) will not get you much more than where you are now.....save ur bucks, keep what you have, obey dad.....you'll have your chance later on as life progresses.</P>


ps - about your ricer buddies...pay no mind.....save ur $$, you'll have your day later on....</P>
