Question on first project car
So when I move back near my parents pretty soon, my dad was talking about being able to work on a project car in his garage. He has a pretty extensive arsenal of tools, although nothing over the top like a lift or anything, and he knows a ton about working on cars. I know a bit myself but will mostly be learning from him as I go. I know I want to do a Mustang, because I've wanted to the whole time growing up since my neighbor had one. However I can't decide if it would be better for us to do a first generation Stang, or a Foxbody. I really like them both, want to do a V8, manual tranny in it. Is it harder working on a Foxbody since it's later model and the engine may have more computer and electrical complenents to it? I know a first generation would be more expensive, and harder to find a decent condition one to start with, but it seems like it would be worth it in the long run. Any opinions would be most helpful

RE: Question on first project car
1st off Welcome to the Forums!!The final decision is in what YOU WANT!!I'm partial to the 1st gen Stangs myself! If you can find 1 with not a lot of metal work to be done you will be way ahead of the game!!Good luck on whatever path you decide to take!!

RE: Question on first project car
Welcome to the forums! Good luck with your project!
My brother has been working on his 86' 5.0 for awhile now and he has been able to do a lot with them and he loves it!
I am currently starting a 65' coupe restoration project which is just as fun and I would say challenging, since I am new to this and learning as I go.
It is all based on preference and what you want! Also - do keep in mind that the older cars may need more body work, depending on what you find and purchase. I have found that out haha.
