i'm new here, and am the original owner of a 1986 gt 5.0 HO 5 speed convertible. Bought it new May 25 1986, and is the greatest car i've ever owned. The bragging rights you ask? It's got 355,234 original miles. Runs like a top, and best of all passes California smog. Only engine work done is 2 timing chains. One at 145,00 the other at 290,00. The only mods to the motor is a MSD 6a ignition. I run 60 wt valvoline oil changed every 5,00 miles. Pretty much all I've done in 22 yrs. Suspension wise... oversized springs, KYB shocks, strut tower support, welded sub-frame connectors, and a 6 point roll bar. Add to that Corbeau Gt racing seats and 5 point Diest racing belts and I've got the ultimate convertible "slot car". Don't have a pic just yet, but will do so.
