Default new guy with a new stang

Hi, all. It was great tofind this forum. Just got my first Mustang. Brand new 2008 GT convertible. Arrest me red, with red interior. Love it!

OK, had an alarm put in by the dealer. (Standard Ford alarm) I have tried adjusting it to no avail. The alarm goes full blast for no apparent reason.I can adjust the warning chirp, but even with adjusting the full alarm to very low sensitivity, it sounds at random, even in the garage.

Is this a common thing? I'm taking it back to the dealers Monday.

yeah there are motion sensers in the map light area, and even if i light breeze passes by it will set it off, so when you park your car, put up the top and windows.

I just got a new 08 GT and I was sitting in it in the garage learning how things work when the alarm went off. I finally discovered I had the alarm set and the motion sensor set the alarm off. Apparently this happens when the key is out of the ignition and the alarm is set. Jim

Well, I tried the top and windows up, in the garage, with no body around, set to low sensitivity, and it still goes off at random. The discription for this alarm says nothing about motion sensors, and even it it does have them, I can't isolate this car any more than what I've done so the alarm is nothing more than a pain at this point. I'm sure it either was put in wrong or it is defective.

I had mine in a show one time with the windows down and had the alarm set. I was walking away from the car and heard the alarm go off. I went back and checked and found that someone had tossed a sheet of paper with an ad into the car. Its extremely sensitive but has never gone off for no reason. The dealer has to adjust it or check for a mistake with the install.
