New Mustang Guy with question
Decided to join the board since I have a few questions. I have never been a car guy. I know basic maintenece and that is about it. I figured being a member on here would provide me with some basic information and would leave me the option of asking questions.
Car was given to my girlfriend in May from her father (Both of us are greatful)!!! Car is an '05 Mustang with 12,000 miles and MB Vision chrome wheels. While my girlfriend technically is the main driver (I have a Celica), I obviously baby this car and make sure everything stays clean and is running smooth.
Montana winter is coming up, should be fun. We live in the city, so snowy interstate driving will not have to take place. Only city driving in the snow. We have really nice Michelin Mud/Snow tires on with only 6,000 miles on them. Tread on them is excellent and with added weight in the trunk should be enough to make driving around town tolerable in the snow. Feather the gas and don't accelerate around turns etc.
I do have one question here. I don't see it being fun trying to keep the chrome wheels looking nice all winter and I don't want to damage them with all the moisture and sand on the city streets. Honestly I think it would just be easier to get some 16" hubcaps and throw those on for 4 months of winter here. Sure the cars image will take a hit, but I could care less. Any suggestion on where to get some hubcaps and the cost? I don't really have too much money to drop on and extra set of rims for winter, so that is why I threw out the idea of hubcaps. If you have any other suggestions please throw them out there.
I look forward to getting some great info from all of you on here.

Welcome to the forum. I wouldn't recommend hubcaps, I would think they would trap the salt and sand between them and ruin your nice rim and create more damage. I bet you could find an inexpensive set of generic wheels for less than a $100.00 on ebay or craigs list.

I have just basic 16" chrome rims on there, so as long as I found a 16" inch wheel it should work? It doesn't have to be for a ford? I could at most drop $200, so if that opens up any options or you find any links for me, let me know. I wish I had friends who were into cars, but I do not.
