Hello
New member here. Hello guys (and gals).
I want to get to know some of you and stay up to date on all of the information that rolls in about the 2007 GT 500. I WANT THAT CAR...BAD...
I hope you guys will be pleased to know I am a brand new Ford/Mustang lover. Most recently I owned an Subaru STi, yes, I know the beer cans are now being thrown at me, BUT WAIT, STOP THROWING...I got rid of it. It just wasn't me. I grew up in high school driving old Camaros and Chevelles (yes, I also used to be a Chevy man). But Chevrolet has really screwed the pooch in the last few years: killed the Camaro? - what is that stupid looking Cobalt thing anyway? So Chevy lost me a few years ago, and while the STi is a serious contender, it just wasn't what I crave.
I want a muscle car again. One with a huge amount of tire shredding power, a loud obnoxious exhaust note coming from a V8, and a menacing look. I want Mustang, I want a Shelby GT 500. I will probably wait for the 2008 version, but it will be worth it.
So, is an ex-STi owner welcome here? lol

RE: Hello
Thanks tomabram for the welcome. This is a really good site/forum.
And your right the Vette is an excellent choice. 18-24 months from now I am going to buy either a Shelby GT 500 or the new Z06 Vette. At that time I am going to sell a piece of property, if I do as well as I expect = GT 500, if the appreciation is just as insane as it has been the last 3-4 years = Z06!!! We'll see. lol
Both the Shelby GT 500 and the new 2006 Corvette Z06 are friggin hawt.
Is it a great time to be a car guy, or what!

RE: Hello
Yea, I have to give ya that one. The NEW 2006 Z06 will be able to beat the GT 500, notice I said 'beat' not 'blow its doors off' (lol). But nothing else under 50K even comes remotely close to the GT 500. And I for one am convinced Ford's final advertised hp number for that car is going to be 500. Even if it isn't quite 500, with a few of the proven mods it will be a 500hp car no problem. Do you agree?
