New here. 1969 302 from Austria
Hy
Iīm new here. Itīs a pleasure for me to tell you something about my Mustang. Itīs 1969 coupe with a 302 engine. Bought in Reno NV and shipped to europe from oakland CA. The stock color was lime gold but now itīs dark green. Will go back to lime gold in some years. I thought the engine is stock but i discovered that it is bored to 0.040 over. So i decided to build a stroker. So i did.
I built a 347 with probe stroker kit from CHP and Afr 185 heads. Londtube 3" headers and 670 Holley streetavenger carb. As i mentioned the block was bored 0.040 over not done by me. Itīs a mexican block. Iīm going to start it next weekend the first time. Hold thumbs form me.
Iīm also in a forum in europe (www.dr-mustang.com) and people there tell me that 0.040 over is way too much for a 302 block. I searched the internet and also here and found different meanings. I think itīs good to have a mexican block because of thiker welldings. And I also think itīs good that it has been running for some years with 0.040 over. But Iīm still not very happy with my desicion to use this block and build a 347 instead of a 331. I know I should have thought about it before. - now itīs too late. I will not go over 5500 RPM so will it hold? What do you think?
Thanks

Welcome to the MF, mursch123 from beautiful British Columbia, Canada!
First of all, let's see some pics of this '69 beast!
Second, there are a ton of people on this site who will give you opinions on the best
way to finish your car's engine...no problem there.
Enjoy the site
