Mustang Cobra Making weird sound over 100mph
I bought a 1996 Mustang cobra a week or two ago and today i decided to see the top speed. i got up to about 120mph and stopped because is started to make a noise similar noise to when you drive on the bumpy things on the side of the highway that are intended to wake you up if you drifting off the highway. im not sure what is making the noise but it seems to happen when i let off the gas more. it doesn't really do it until i get up to around 90 mph.
....I wouldn't go that fast until you get the Cobra fixed!

funny I have a Tremec trans and at 80 mph I had a vibration and noise that sounded similar. removed trans and found front input shaft bearings out of spec. replaced with new input shaft and verified that noise and vibration was gone. lot of work though to check noise. should try on a lift with an assistant and run through gears check front and rear of trans while running to determine noise. This is only if it is standard
