Back in the saddle again
Howdy folks! After a few years away from the Blue Oval, I'm now back in the fold. Last I was on the forums, I had a 2007 GT with a Pypes mid-muffler system, Hurst shifter, and awesome striping from Baltimore Street Mods. Loved the car, but a combination of a persistent leaky seal at the rear axle and the 2010 V6 models massive jump in HP had me thinking it might be time to take a break.
Traded the Mustang in on a 370Z. May sound like heresy, but the Z is one heck of ride and one of the last affordable two seaters that still haul butt on demand. Put a goodly bit of work into the exhaust on the Z, Stillen pipes and mufflers and BERK cats. Made 300 hp at the wheels and was fast as you could want, but a little voice in the back of my head said something was missing that just couldn't be bought or bolted on to the Nissan. I missed the V8 rumble.
Talked to the wife and got permission to take a look at the 2013 Boss when they hit the local dealers. Well, while I was at one of my local dealers asking about the arrival date of the 2013s, I saw her... a 2012 Shelby GT500 in Grabber Blue with the white stripes.
Someone had ordered it, waited a couple of months for the car, then driven it for 1000 miles over 6 months before trading it back when they apparently hit some financial trouble.
Hate to hear stories like that, but I will do my best to make sure the car has a good home.
I don't usually do the used car thing, but this was a deal that I couldn't pass by. It's great to be back in this awesome community and be behind the wheel of my new doomsday machine.
