90 5.0 LX (Green 7up)
Hi,
I just purchase a 1990 emerald green 5-speed lx 5.0. It's a 'rare' 7-up car made for a promotion between Ford and 7-up. Sink a basket from mid-court at a basketball game and win a car. Go figure!
I got suckered in from good salesmanship... the PO really seemed to know the car and took care of it. It has a salvage title which I'm trying to ascertain as to why it was salvaged, it also has new paint, white leather interior, stereo, and wheels/tires, and I believe 75K miles original. It also has a $2500 cloth top. Carfax is a little fuzzy on mileage but points out a couple of damage reports.
I don't know what to expect from a mustang but I'm really liking it so far. It's my first Ford. I'm getting lot's of thumbs up from passers by and it seems pretty solid.
I have a punch list of issues I want to deal with such as exterior door trim and trim around outside of top. Also, there is no dome lighting, it has the rear power window clicking slow issue, etc. Overall, I'm digging it.
This car can't seem to stop to save it's life. Not sure if it's me just not used to rear drums, but OMG... it's terrible. Also, the suspension is quite soft.
Well, enough babble... I'll post my issues in the general forum and see if I can get a friend out there that lives in Raleigh, NC area that may look over the car with me.
Thanks all!!!!

Welcome to MF. You have to come by the Carolina Regional Chapter. We would love to have you with us. We have some members in your area. It's late in the year, but we have a lot of GTG's every year. Also, jay@hypermotive (Screen Name) is a Carolina MF'r. He's the owner of Hypermotive Performance (vendor here) and might be able to help you with parts.
