Default 1983 Mustang GLX

Ok...trying to keep the hoof-beats alive in my life...first Mustang turned out to be more drama than I wanted to deal with, so it is on the market to someone that has the time and inclination to return it to her proper glory....so, with that said, I still had this "itch" that only a Mustang convertible can scratch.

As nice and original as this car is, had it over to Midas the other day to take a look at the exhaust system. Since it is a V6, the installed glass pack bullet muffler sounds ridiculous in my opinion so I was going to have a nice OE style muffler installed. Nope, Midas did not have one and lift inspection shows that the rear converter was replaced by a cheater pipe too....explains why she is a little boggy on take off, basically, it is running a straight pipe and is not getting the proper back-pressure to run smoothly on acceleration. To top it off, it had a section of flex pipe to hook the glass pack to the tail pipe...ugh.

I ordered up a new direct fit catalytic converter from Catco and new midpipe, muffler and tailpipe from Walker to return the exhaust to OE....I will report on how it all went. Original hangers are still in place so I am looking forward to a nice quiet ride...
