Default Racing with an automatic

Well I don’t know where this is going to end up because the forum would not let me post this under the “Speed Zone.” So we’ll see where we end up…

I have a 07 GTCS convertible with automatic and 3:31 gears. I have added a JLT CAI, Kooks Headers, hi-flow cats/X-pipe, under drive pulleys and a Brenspeed 93 octane tune. All done by the new Brenspeed shop in Cedar Hill. Making 304 RWHP on the dynojet (259 RWHP stock)

It still has the original BF Goodrich tires and I am having a hard time launching it at the strip. I was running pretty consistent mid 9.20’s (1/8 mile track) stock but the best I have been able to do since the mods was one pass at 8.95 @ 81mph. The rest have been in the 9.4-9.6 range due to tire spin. Drag Radials have been suggested along with changing out the upper and lower control arms and perhaps adding a “watts” linkage, although that seems more about cornering than straight line acceleration.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

adjustable upper and lowers and drag radials should help your traction....i would not worry about the watts link for dragstrip performance.i would also suggest a driveshaft safety loop with sticky tires.
