Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. Just picked up a new project and can already tell I'll be relying on this forum to guide me through some of my issues.
Been a member of the FFR forum for years and know how useful they can be. Newly acquired car is a '69 Mach 1 with a Boss 302 eng. and trans. Other than that, think it is pretty much original, except for paint.
Some of the things I'm considering are coil over front end, 3 or 4 link rear end, power rack and pinion, and a Tremec TKO 500.
My immediate issues are the current shift linkage and the close ratio toploader. The linkage is terrible, and the toploader is not conducive to the rear end gears which I believe to be the original 3.25s. My thinking is if I get a good Comp Plus shifter kit, I'll still be dealing with the tall gears of the toploader, so perhaps going to the the TKO 500 would kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak.
Anyways, will try to direct future posts in appropriate sections.
