new member buying ,,, opinions ?
well serious about buying a new 2014 mustang ,, no t sure if I should wait out for the 15 model looking at pics I like the outsid style of the 2014 better and with price incentives ,, well
so here is what am thinking ,, 2014 V6 premium with just leather package that automatically adds upgraded stereo interior etc ,,
or upgrade to pony pkg .. really all that is above the other is the 18 inch wheels over the 17 inch painted pocked stockers ,,, and the badging as wel as tail fin ..
I am in Canada so pkgs may vary compared to US packages ,,,
I WILL be towing light duty ,, we race stand up jetskis .. when towin a single stand up at about 350lbs plus trailer weight well bellow 1000 mark so ok their .. it might get to 1200-1300 lbs if I take two skis and my double custom trailer though ,,
other points to consider
- I am a ford worker so I do get "A" plan pricing
- I am 5'3" so taking my 13yr old along in the back seat shouldn't be too bad
- will be a daily driver I can buy a second set of rims and snows ..
( I do see a few 5.0 stangs in the parking lot at work and are daily drivers )
most likely stick with the v6 premium with leather but was also considering a GT ,,
I do have a second "car" its a mint 1980 El Camino with bench seat ,, it does also have a trailer hitch but its only a 6cyl tows ok locally and it is rated to tow 2000lbs .. daily summer driver also thinking I may keep it on the road for winter driving too though ..
so for the mustang .. any opinions on the best value package ? and how close is it to the fuel economy they advertise ?
I am thinking black on black ,, tint the windows out and keep it clean looking maybe just add rear quarter louvers later that's it ,,
even with "A" plan pricing it comes in at $27500 with just premium and leather adding pony pkg adds about $1500 or so .. not sure if that is worth it for just 18inch wheels over the 17s ,, plus badging

You're getting a Mustang for towing? Whatever floats your boat, but that seems like a pain in the *** when you could get a truck for the same price. Just a thought depending on how often you tow.
As for the Pony Package, I got the equivalent in the GT, which is the California Special. It's all appearance and badging, but I thought it was worth it, because I love the look and I got a great deal on the car. If I hadn't gotten such a good deal, I probably wouldn't have gotten it since it was all appearance. So if you really like the wheels on the Pony Package, the upgraded grille, and the badging, go for it. If not, maybe just get a regular Premium or a base GT.
If you haven't gone to sit in a base Mustang and a Premium, I would recommend doing that. In the '05-'09s, the leather wasn't much of an upgrade. In the new ones, the leather feels really good and looks good with the white stitching. However, the cloth is good too. Another thing to look at is the gauges. The base Mustangs don't have the upgraded gauges with the information center between the speedo and tach. Also, even if you get a base GT, look at getting Sync. It's just a pretty bad *** upgrade for connecting your phone and what not, and not very expensive.
