2012 vortech v3 track day saturday, any launching suggestion?
Hello going to the strip Saturday and hoping to get some suggestions on how to launch this beast. I went 1 time before with this car and couldn't get going. Spin most of the way of course on street tires. I have DR now just wondering about tire pressure and RPM to launch at. Last and only time at the track took 2 passes @ 45 degrees this spring. Rear started coming around near finish line. ran 12.7@130 (2.7 60ft)

First off welcome to the forum. And congrats on your Mustang, that does sound like a beast.
You may want to post this question in the Street/Strip forum, they'll tell you what they have found to work best. But your 60ft is killing your et lol, as you know. That first 60 feet is everything to a good et. Get those tires HOT in the waterbox, roll out of it still spinning so you don't carry any water up to the line. If you can, drive around the waterbox and back in so your fronts don't do the same. Launch rpm will have to be decided by you with practice. Tire pressure, the same. Each cars alittle different, but practicing is the fun part.
Don't forget to post your improvement in Street/Strip, we love to talk about this stuff.
One more thing, with that kind of power, you may want to think about getting a set of full slicks for the track. Nothing hooks better.
