I understand it comes with the territory, but how much oil do you folks burn? I've managed as much as 2 quarts in 2500 miles or so with my 96 PI swap. While I do drive like a jackass on occasion, this seems like a lot. I was curious what the kind of usage the rest of you see. Want to jump on this if it's a mechanical issue. Car runs great otherwise. and apologies if I'm in the wrong section, it wouldn't let me post in tech

Yeah I would expect a Coyote to need minimal maintenance and checkups. I assume it's a coyote, they're still a ways out of my price range so I haven't read up on newer mustangs too much

Voted, I'm around 2 quarts because of bad valve seals. I'm also to lazy to fix it right now.

The 2010 he mentioned is actually a 4.6, not a Coyote. My built 4.6 burns about 1/2 quart every 1k or so. Switching to a thicker oil though.

I burned a quart when the car was new, but nothing since them.

Ha it sounds like a case of "your mileage may vary". anyone with a 99-04 that drives like an ***?

I clicked "0". My '13 certainly uses less than a quart between changes, but I'm not sure it's really 0. Only 9500 miles so can't be totally sure, through it certainly does not seem excessive in any way.

Haven't noticed any oil usage on mine yet. I've only had it since April and I'm just now at a thousand or so. Welcome to the forum.
