Default Hi! Can I get 2012 tail lights in a 2013?

Hi! I am looking into getting a Mustang in the very near future but wanted to check something before I do. My problem: I like the front end of the 2013 model more than the 2012, but I like the rear of the 2012 more than the 2013. I was wondering if it was possible to switch the tail lights on the 2013 model and put in tail lights from a 2012 model? I realize I am probably the only person that wants to do this, most people want the 2013 tail lights lol

Thank you!!

Shouldn't be an issue.

There are very slight fitment differences but many people have gone with 13-14 taillights in a 12. Should not be an issue going the other way.

Not sure if it's plug and play. There's a few posts regarding that being an issue. Do a bit of research. I think its possible but you may have to configure it.

I know that the 2013's work in the 2012's, but they leave a small gap at the bottom, in the middle, because of the shape.

That being said, I don't think the 2012's will work in the 2013's because of the shape. I think there will be interference from the bumper....same spot where there's a gap when putting the 2013 tail lights in a 2012.

I'm pretty sure to you would probably have to switch out the rear bumpers as well to get it to look right. I'm sure there will be quite a few guys that may be interested in doing a swap with you to get some 13 lights in their 11-12.
