Smile Boss429 Hemi in a 2005 Mustang GT

Hi everyone, I joined this forum because my dad is working on this engine/project for as long as I can remember. He was this Boss 429 on a Nascar block which he had from back in his racing days. it's a Can-Am, about 8.3 liters 8 cylinder. I don't know nearly as much about cars as he does, but he is putting it into a Ford Mustang GT 2005. He took the dimensions and says it will fit. He insists on making it all mechanical. He has mechanical fuel injection and even a magneto instead of an alternator... I wanted to hear any thoughts from more experienced people than myself if this would work, I attached some pictures for everyone to check out.

I think he has more pictures if anyone is interested.

That's pretty crazy! I heard about the Ford 429 Hemi but never seen one. If he ran this engine in a Nascar, he can probably make it work in a 2005 GT. What will he use for a Transmission? What does he plan on doing with it? Very cool project!!

Welcome to the forum, and Holy Crap, talk about being different lol. I'd love to see pic's of that in the car, with the hood down.

Congrats to your Dad.

Thanks all! He's using a close-ratio 6-speed from Rockwell. It's funny because my Dad has had this engine sitting around since before I was born, I'm 30 now, and he has always talked about putting it into a car. Now that he is retired, he finally has time to do, and I never thought I'd see the day, but it's actually coming together. He wants to get this into his mustang GT and have one wild ride, and go to some car shows. Feel like the days when he use to race again.
