How much should I expect to spend?
Good Afternoon,
Brand new to this forum. I'm shopping for a 2005 or newer GT Coupe. I'd like it to be the Premium and it must have the manual transmission. It will be driven in a couple of thousand miles per year since I'm in NW PA. Please let me know how much money I'm realistically going to need to buy a nice stock one. I've been looking at Craigslist, Auto Trader, Cars.com, local adds, etc. but it seems most people are asking substantially more than what Edmunds and others are saying they should bring. I'm not sure if both individuals & dealers are getting what they're asking. I'd like some insight so I know what I'm looking at to spend.
Thanks,
Russ.

welcome
You're doing exactly what I think any one of us would recommend...search multiple car listing sites and start comparing....something to be said though if they are all consistent with one another. As 88 orangepeel notch said, those prices are just a starting point. Find a few they are really interesting, go check them out, and see if you can make a deal!
Good luck!

People almost always ask more than what they would really take. That's why you negotiate and this process happens with nearly every new and used vehicle.
There's no way we could tell you what to pay without you picking out a specific car...or pinning down a certain model year. It would help if you mentioned what your budget is.

$12,000 is my upper budget, I'd really like to be at 10. I shop thru the adds daily...nothing so far that really interests me. The time of year probably has something to do with the amount available right now. What I'd like to find is an 05 or newer, as stock as possible, in the 80,000 or less mile range. 5 speed, leather. Finding one in the Pittsburgh area would be ideal. Thanks for the replies. I was thinking that snow would equal better deals.

I would definitely suggest that you not settle on something that doesn't really interest you.
Your budget is a little on the low side. If your circumstances allow for it I would encourage you to save a bit as you can get a lot more car with just a few thousand more.
