Default HELP, 1969 mustang rack & pinion/ brakes advice

Hi guys,

i am from the united kingdom and have just bought a 1969 mustang 302 manual imported from Alabama. the car needs lots of work to get it up to scratch and i imagine this will be the first of many posts. i would be so grateful to hear from any of you regarding my first problem.

1. My steering box is totally unserviceable. my aim is to replace it with a rack and pinion conversion. i have never done this before. can anyone tell me what the best kit to buy is for the job? do i need any specialist help installing it? chassis/frame work required? cost?

Here is a list of a couple of other modifications i plan on doing that may assist with you answering my query...

Rack and pinion conversion
Power steering
big brake disc conversion all round (currently stock drums) with power assisted servo
adjustable suspension all round

Many thanks for your help in advance,

Andrew
