Thumbs up New Mustang Owner - North London

Hi guys, I can't remember for how long, but I've loved Mustangs for many years. Obviously they're quite rare over here, so if I ever see one, I find myself standing and staring for quite some time.

For around 15 years I worked in Central London, driving to work just wasn't an option, so after some time I started riding bikes and currently I own a CB1000R as well as an off road bike for some fun.

I've generally loved many things American since I was young. I started playing American Football at 13 years of age, at 24 I captained England and I only finally retired 4 years ago at 36 after knee surgery.

I'm a Redskins fan and have been to 5 or 6 games over the last 10 years, including the Thanksgiving day win in Jerryworld a couple of years back

Anyway, on to the car Around 2½ years ago I got promoted and started working in places I could drive to work. I had to first save to buy a flat (not easy in London) which I bought last summer, so then I could start planning finally for my Mustang.

Initially I thought I would go with a 2011 V6, the new engine and all that. Then I saw a beautiful 2010 V8 though...

I've had it around 3 weeks now and loving it. The only issue is my most recent tank of fuel has been almost all short commutes for work and I think I've done just under 14mpg. My previous car was bad if I came under 40.

Still, you don't buy a Mustang for it's economical mileage! This beauty certainly turns some heads, even in areas where Lamborghini's and Ferrari's are seen out and about.

Welcome mate, congrats on the Mustang, and just like the Lambos and Ferrari's Mustangs are just as rare so its almost like your in the same league as the Lambos, maybe not as exotic looking but just as exotic when it comes to the commonality!!

I have always been wanting to visit the UK and tour in a Mustang or even my F150!!

Great intro, glad to have you. Congrats on that Mustang, looks great. Fuel economy does seem low though. Good luck and loved that bike.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I should point out, the mileage that came in that low (was actually 12.6mpg) was ALL commuting just 2 miles, not often reaching 3rd gear. I've now done a longer trip, all motorway, mainly 5th gear 70mph cruise control and I got 23.5mpg

As the weather improves, I'll commute on the bike more.
