In need of advice
Hello everyone. I'm new here and I need some opinions. I currently have an 04 Mustang V6. I'm now looking for something with a little more pick up and go. I'm debating between a new 2015 V6 or a 2013 GT. My price range is mid $20k. I know Id rather have a GT, but I'm not sure if it's wise to choose that over a brand new car. There are 3 things that make me want the GT over the V6. First is the obvious. Horsepower. 420 compared to 300. Second is the whole "if it's not a V8, its not a muscle car." And thirdly, I feel that GT owners sort of look down on V6 owners. What are you guy's thoughts?

Welcome to the forum.
Personally, I'd definitely get the V8. It's a Mustang after all. I just hear a lot more "wish I would have gotten the V8" than "wish I would have gotten the V6"
Good luck in your decision.

Thanks for your feedback. I am definitely leaning more toward the GT. Assuming I can afford the insurance with me being 19 haha. I also like the fact that I can mod it immediately without worrying about voiding warranties.

Welcome, nice to see another new guy from TX. For the mid 20K range you could find a 2013/14 GT with low miles that was still covered under warranty. You should contact your insurance agent to see the difference in premiums between a new V6 and a GT similar to what you are looking for. Considering your age, I assume the premium will be outrageous for a GT. Keep in mind you will be spending more on gas also. I havent driven my GT that much yet, but 22 mpg on the highway seems to be its best. That's driving conservatively also.

Welcome to the forums and I gotta agree.
I bought a 2008 V6 Convertible, nice car but needed more umph, bought a 2013 V6 Convertible, same thing, bought a 2013 GT/CS but had to sell within just a couple of months due to some issues at work and have regretted it ever since.
I still have the V6 Vert, but now am looking at a 13 GT as a second car.
Just get the V8 and be happy.
If you don't get what you want to begin with you will always be looking at it and thinking "man I wish". so just do yourself a favor and get what you want.

If you are already questioning the decision to get a v6 then you know the answer.
The v6 is settling for something you don't really want.
Some people are happy with a v6. My wife loves her v6 and is perfectly happy. I drive it and we go to shows and get together and road trips with the Carolina chapter and it's a nice ride and I enjoy the heck out of the car. But...
And some other things to consider. The V6 is a little more difficult to mod. Not just the engine, although you could supercharge it and make 430hp for 6K but then you have spent as much as a Gt, but the suspension too.
I'm not knocking the v6. For what it is it is no slouch. And I certainly understand the difference in price. I would have loved to have a GT/CS Vert but 45K is a whole lot more dough than 32K for the v6 vert.
Just saying get what you want or you will be looking to trade shortly and will never be completely happy.
Good luck and sorry about rambling on.
