Lightbulb What to do With My 2000 Mustang 3.8L

So i have been looking for a mustang that i can work on for a while now. The other day i was walking down the street and saw one for sale

Long story short:
Has Gt badges and a dual exhaust so i was tricked at first.
117 K miles on the orig engine and tranny
I paid $400 for it. It needs engine work

My goal was to find a 4.6 manual and i ended up with a 3.8 auto. LOL

So that leads me to my question:
What can i do with my slow 3.8 mustang?
Are there any engines that are lug and play?

I have done research on 3.8 to 4.6 engine swaps but that wouldn't be a plug and play. I would have to swap out some electrical components. as well as change the rear end.

Open to all ideas! anything helps

Welcome to the forum.

If this a running/driving car now, I'd say sell it, and put that money toward a GT of your likeing.

I agree with 88.

Wouldn't be worth your time and effort to put all that work in a 15 year old car with v-6 engine.

Get the car running and clean it up and sell it for more than you paid for it.
