Default Cobra, trans sound

Hey guys,
I'm having some questions about my manual transmission.
Every morning I start it up or when it's cold, I hear a hissing and kind of light metal to metal grinding sound that's constant, under the car.
It goes away or gets much quieter when i disengage the clutch- push it down.
Any ideas?
Thanks guys
It's a 1997 cobra 5 speed
The previous previous owner apparently put a stage 2 in it.

Also,
I showed it to my auto professor,
And he said that it might be my catch point, because it's right right before stalling,
So it needs a clutch adjustment
So it's something like the pilot bearing against the input shaft where they're too close. Sorry guys, I'm not in transmissions class yet.
Thank you!

Throw out bearing is where I'd look first.

Also, this section is supposed to be just for new members intros. Your question should go in the appropriate Tech section.

Good luck
