Default Overheating when A/C is on

Hey guys, on my 1997 cobra I have an AC problem.
I'm posting this since the cobra and GT 4.6 are similar when compared to things such as A/C- so far as I know.
Whenever I put on the A/C. The engine revs up about 400 RPMS more.
And there's a significant loss in power.
Even more/ the engine start to get hot and overheat. I literally can watch the gauge go towards red.
It's a manual... So when I start driving and rev up then shift, the RPM's significant drop slower. Also, it's anytime when I put cold air on, even without AC.
Thanks guys!
