Mustang Dilettante Needs Advice
I need some expertise.
I've had a crush on Mustangs ever since I saw Bullitt in the theaters, so I thought maybe now is the time to indulge. I found a 1998 Mustang Cobra with the following description of all the customized work done on it:
The Kenne Bell supercharger gives the DOHC 4.6 Liter gobs of torque. The Exedy Mach 600 Stage 4 Clutch and Lightweight Racing Flywheel make sure all the power gets to Fords tough 8.8 Differential equipped with 3:55 gears and a Detroit Locker. The Nitto Summer Max tires (265/35ZR18 & 295/35ZR18) do their best to put it to the ground. The Brembo Big Brake conversion assures you can bring it down from speed again and again. For those of you that like to do more than go straight, the Saleen Racecraft Suspension and sub frame connectors get the job done. If the Recaro Saleen leather seats are not snug enough for the occasional track day, it comes with a quick to bolt in Corbeau FX1 Pro Racing Seat. Car is in great shape - always garaged (and covered). A pure joy to drive with a long list of extras - Mishimoto Over sized Radiator, Mishimoto Racing Thermostat, Roush Cold Air kit, Borla Exhaust, Snow Performance Methanol Injection, 07 Shelby GT500 Wheels, trunk mounted Moroso Battery Box with a Interstate AGM battery, HID Headlights, Saleen rear spoiler, Bullit Performance Pedal kit and Wolf Car cover.
----
I test drive it tomorrow.
I don't know enough to know what all these improvements and alterations mean. Can anyone here give me a succinct appraisal of these customized additions?
It's got 49,000 miles.
Thanks for any help.
(I know it's not the car driven in Bullitt. Obviously. But what the hell. It's within my price range.)

I don't know much about that year Mustang, but if it puts a smile on your face, your gonna want to buy it. And it WILL put a smile on your face.
Especially with that racing thermostat. lol
Congrats, post up some pics of this beast when you get it.....

sounds like one hell of a mustang...
i would find out why a '98 has so few miles on it; usually when someone puts that much time (and money) into upgrades, they want to drive it everywhere. Can you get the VIN and get a carfax (or whatever service you prefer) report?
and like the last guy said: pictures!!!!
