Default Gidday guys

Hi everyone. My first post and I have no idea if this is in the correct section or not.
Im from the Gold Coast of Australia and recently bought a 12/2015 Mustang GT fastback. Absolutely love it. Ford now export them out here in RHD which is awesome for us.

On the right side of the front bumper there is a circular cutout. Similar to a cutout in case you wanted to put fog lights etc in . There is no hole there. Just a circular cut. What I don't understand is that there is nothing on the left side of the bumper. Just the right.
Does anyone know what this is for?
Cheers
JC

Welcome to the forums, & you're in the right place.
A picture of what you're talking about might help 2015 owners answer your question.
I don't have a 15, so I'm no help at all..

That is odd, and to have it only on 1 side ??? What does your dealership say it's for ?

I haven't got that far yet. I'm in Australia so I actually thought I'd have more luck with this side than an Aussie mechanic.

There isn't anything like that on cars sold here. Could be something that is used during shipping to hold the car - they pull that plug and connect to a hold down maybe and then put the plug back in when it arrives there?

Good thinking Jim. You may be right there as apparently the plug is on all the Australian models. I might ring the Ford dealership tomorrow and ask.

It's for the "recovery hook" located in with the spare tire, page 131 of the owners manual.

Thanks mate. I completely missed that. It was the first place I looked. Page 125 for me.
