So i was just looking on http://www.newyorkmustangs.com/ and it was discussing watkins glenn opening day event for mustangs? Does anyone have any more information about it. I'd love to do it, I'm close by and it'd be fun to see all the other NY mustangs.

I saw this post and I was going to paste the url for that Watkins Glen thread on nym for you, but you have already seen it, lol. A few of us did the three laps at the Glen in August and it was a lot of fun. Definitely worth the 25 bucks!

Yes, it is definitely a good time! Keep an eye out for the Mustang Rally of the Finger Lakes thread for the first weekend in August. We do the Watkins Glen 3 laps as well and it is all Mustangs. Plus we do a car show the following day. It is a real fun weekend. Are you a member on NYM?

This sounds sweet, any requirements to run the WG track? Cage, helmet, etc...

I no someone who did it a few yrs you barely break 65 mph lol. Roll cage is definetly not a requirement

No special requirements other than seatbelt and lights on although none of us had our lights on. And we did well over 65mph. There is a pace car but it depends how people are behaving.

Yeah most of the time we were well over 65, lol. But when the pace car did come out I think we topped out at 80 on a couple of straights.
