no real problems with doing this. I'm doing it now and there's a fair number of them already on the roads. it's fairly easy. Check out my thread (sticky) on the subject at www.mustangboards.com in the 4.6L tech section. If you have questions post em up.

Should not have any problems. Just have to change everything...but it will fit. I know a guy that has a sean hyland motor in his and it is a big block motor ( think 460 cubes or something like that).

Mine's done. Power is fantastic, drives like a dream. If you've ever thought about doing the swap I'd say go for it.

BTW... HPS's new intake is coming out VERY soon. Like new years time frame soon. So if you're on the fence, there's another reason to work it.

that is impressive, lets see some pics! the 6.8's r just about as wide but at least 6 inches longer than the 5.4, hes probably got about a 1/2 inch between water pump pulley and fans.

I have a 00gt with a 5.4 2v in it and must say this is the motor they should have put in this car from the start. If your willing to go through the effort you won't be disappointed.

The stock hood fit just fine. We did ours with riechart racing adaptor plates.
