Just got in from my cousin's party guys. Sorry i didn't show, I got hung up there because not a whole lot of the family showed up for him If I left early I would've felt like a jerk.
This is really turning out to be a pain in the @$%. They went to put the gordsford heat exchanger on the car... and found that they need to re-route my power steering cooler and modify some other things as well as remove the front facia... a LOT more work that what any of us expected when Howard gave the the original cost estimate.
Plus, I'm waiting for Chicane to send me a new pully so I can at least up the boost to 9lbs on the Saleen supercharger. Everythings now on hold... the car is still sitting at his shop waiting for the pulley and then they're going to do it all in one shot. I'm actually lucking out. Howard may be hard to get ahold of... have a quick temper and be ambivalent about working on mustangs... but he really is a good guy. They spent probably 6-7 hours total working on my car so far... including tearing it apart to do the KB install... only to find out it won't fit and so they had to put it back together again as well as figuring out how to get the heat exchanger mounted.... I asked Howard today how much I already owed him for the work they've already done (even though the car is currently back EXACTLY as it was when I brought it to him... but that's not his fault) and also how much it would cost to add in all the rest of the stuff I want to have them install. (svt pump, BAP, MAF, Throttle body, injectors, heat exchanger and Saleen decals) Figuring that his estimate was going to go way up considering the heat exchanger install is going to be much more complex than we had thought it would be...
And he said... call it $250 above what I originally quoted you and we'll call it good.
So that means it's still only going to run me between $1750 to $1850 for everything. He's cutting me a pretty good break considering all the wasted time and effort they've already put into it.
I'm still bummed about not getting the KB installed and boosting my HP up to the 450-475RWHP range... but with all the add-ons, better heat exchanger and the smaller pulley, I'm hoping to hit between 350-375 RWHP with the Saleen blower. Not exactly a GT-500 killer, but still pretty damn respectable.
