Paul - You're better off using the Studs over the bolts, as the bolts stretch after ONE use ...Studs you can use over & over

Ill look into it. I probably need to buy something anyway. Im pretty sure the bolts were reused the last time the heads were off.

That wouldnt surprise me if they were reused when they werent supposed to be because of the way everything else was- warped heads, screwed up valves (not being adjusted right), stripped bolt holes, thread sealer on coolant passages, screwed up pcv grommet, greasy clutch, etc.

I just cant justify putting a smaller engine (liters) in a car than what it came with.

If I didnt already have heads and an intake I wouldve considered a stroked 351 but it was beyond my budget and I already had the parts so I went with a 347.

A guy I know has a basically stock notchback and he's putting a stroked 351 in it, possibly a 426. He doesnt have heads or an intake so he'd have to buy those parts anyway regardless of engine size.

...with a 351w you would also need a new dizzy! ...as for the 281 4v mod eng., I've seen a few Fox's that have converted to this set-up & they're real fast! ...even seen a few with the 03/04 Cobra set-up!

Id have no problem putting a 4.6 into a 4 banger fox.

Id like to put a 4.6 Cobra motor into a 4 banger or v6 Mustang II Cobra. I love that bodystyle.
