Well, I got the alternator off and had it tested this morning at Advance Auto. It was bad. Bought a new (Delco)Remy alt w/Limited lifetime warranty for $179 (like $30 over a refurb). Put it in and all seems well. Went to WalMart to get warranty credit for the new battery I bought last night and got all my money back. (new batt for nuttin!) So, about for $195 and 5 hours of leave from work The Av is running again.

Thanks all for your help!

You shouldve gone to Accel in Schenectady and gotten a reman unit. Theyre a hell of alot cheaper and have a warranty.
I got my starter there and its got a lifetime warranty.
