was that a 4.3 or 2.8? I had a 1991 4 door Jimmy that had a 4.3 in it that when I sold it had 475,000 miles on it. The problem with the truck was that it always shorted. The problem with the short came from the light under the radio where there was drawer ash tray thing that always stayed on. I can not tell you how many times I would bring it to F GMC when it was in Rotterdam and then Capitaland GMC on Rte 50 in Glenville. They never found it......I brought the car to Jiffy lube and was talking to a kid that worked there and he told me to disconnect the light and it worked and this was a 100,000 miles. I can not tell you how many batteries and how many warranty calls I spent in the waiting room of the dealer ship. So moral of the story I would rather drive some thing that works than being stuck in New Jersey with a nice looking truck and dead battery.

That truck had a 2.8 and a five speed. Gutless but hard to kill. It only had 157k when I got rid of it. The 4wd worked so it was a great offroad beater but it was also my daily driver from May-December of '03.
Those were the 'before' pics. Here's what it looked like when I traded it for a '96 Neon (straight up trade):

475k is a hell of alot of miles. Where did you drive that thing- to the moon and back?
