I hate when the 500 ends like that! They should have started the race earlier and they would have been fine. 3:30pm start was way too late.

Paul, the snap style is fine. What you want is the style of tonneau that has an aluminum frame that is held on to the top of the bed with clamps. The cover snaps onto the frame. No damage to the truck and easily removeable.

I know on my friend's father's truck the snap style is a big pain to close when its cold.

I definately want one with a frame. No '80's style riviting to the bed for me.

I know how stuff like that can happen. Ive been lucky so far.

I remember when they use to finish in the daylight, I like it better that way. Terrible ending on the race I look forward to the most.

Paul. When I had a Silverado I had a Sportmaster tonneau with snaps, but it had a hinge. In order to get into the bed, you put the tailgate down, moved a lever and the back 3/4 of the tonneau was on a hinged frame with gas struts. The top never unsnapped unless you were taking off the entire cover. I liked it. May be something to look into, if they still make it.
