I finally put my POS away for the winter Saturday. It was the first chance I had all winter due to weather, work and road construction on my grandmother's street (its in her garage).
I didnt even trust driving it from just off Kings Road at the Rotterdam/Colonie line to just off Eastern Avenue in Schenectady.
The tranny is junk and the lifters are ticking bad.
Im debating taking it off the road this year if I dont come up with enough cash to get it all fixed because theres no way Im driving it like it is.
Every time I drive it I appreciate my daily driver even more.
Metro said it would have been a lot more for them to install it....I can easily install the two myself soI would rathe save the money and lose a few hours on a saturday morning.
Good luck with your car.......how much is too much to spend to fix it up?

These lifters are brand new with less than 1000 miles on them and they make alot of noise. Id really rather stick with new ones but thanks for the offer.
I had no problems with my originals but got them replaced when the cam was put in to prevent a problem later on.
The tranny doesnt shift when its supposed to and shifts real hard and downshifts wrong and I was told the brand new converter (less than 1000 miles) is junk. Sometimes the cable on the tranny falls off the throttle body too.
Im getting rid of the POS AOD in the spring. I bought a 5 speed setup a few months ago and its sitting in my garage waiting to be swapped in.I just cant stand driving an automatic.
It looks like my tax return is going into the car to make it run good this year.
Once the mechanical issues are fixed I need to get it tuned somewhere.
Oh ya...and also. Whats the deal with the "stinger" Mustang at Metro? $45,000...for that? For those that have seen it you know what I am talking about. Who needs Ostrich leather seats
