Default Fine scratches in clear coat...it looks like

I just had some silver stripes painted on a 06 GT.. Looks like the body shop went and "roughed" up the entire hood rather then just the 24" area in the middle for the stripes. Now it still shines great but when I look eye level with the hood I can see fine scratches on the entire hood outside the stripe area which is tungsten grey.

It's not horrible but if you look closely you can see it was obviously roughed up and it was perfect before.(I know they wet sanded the edge of the stripes so more flush that is ok)

I am buying the PC from you. What pads etc. do you recommend and do you have any advise? thanks a bunch.

If you are going to get the PC I would go with the Optimum or Pooroboy's PC kit. Both kits have medium and light cutting polishes. They also come with the PC, backing plate, white polishing pad, orange light cutting pad, and gray finishing pad. The orange pad will be used for medium to heavier swirls and the white polishing pad will be used for light swirls and regular polishing. The gray pad is used for applying glazes, sealants, and waxes.

Most likely you will have to use the orange light cutting pad with a medium abrassive polish and then step down to the white polishing pad and a light polish. Hope this helps and let me know if you have anymore questions.

Take the car back to the shop and talk to the owner about what his workers did to your car. Be nice at first, then open up a can of verbal whip-a**.
