google them and you'll see all kinds of press anouncements that Michelin had brought the Riken Raptors to market. They're made by Michelin... that's good enough for me. I'd imagine a lot of people use them... ricers also use sumitomo and kumho but that doesn't make those bad.

i never said they were bad. you just dont see them often on non import cars
I bought a set, they are made by Michelin. I was told by a friend that sells tires they are Michelin Pilots in disguise. He convinced me to buy the because he had a friend that has a 800HP Stang had purchased 3 sets. So I bought them, and I have not one complaint about them. I have no trouble hooking up with 350 HP and they grip the road well. Low road noise and they look great!

are they just street tires? would they be maybe better than drag radials?
Whoa...this thread was brought back from the dead.
I doubt they'd be better than DR's, and I have found that they are not worth a poop in sub-freezing temps. I still say that they are a great tire for the money for a street tire though.

JLT/tune, Hurst, MBRP Axlebacks. Still slow, but fun
I think I am gonna go ahead and also get a set of the rikens. They are the best price around. Online, plus shipping, they are still cheaper to pay extra to have them mounted and balanced, than buying them at the store. From what I found, they are made by Michelin. The reason they are so cheap is because it is an unadvertised brand.
