Default Programming a keyless entry remote

My wife wrecked her Taurus a couple of weeks ago and we kept one of her old keyless entry remotes. She bought another Taurus recently and I hear those things can be reprogrammed to work with her new car. Anyone kow the procedure to do this?

Ford already wants $50 a key so I don't want them to know I want one of these, too. It's supposed to be a Merry Christmas to us, not them[8D]

If your talking about the fab I its 6 to 8 turns of the key not till it turns on but all the way till then. You'll know when its the rich about of tunrs because the locks in the car will lock then unlock then you presslock on the fab. You should be set then.

What taurus did she have and what does she have now? Its makes a difference.

Dont listen to miller hes a chevy porter I'm a ford porter so I know my ****Yes I've done it too when I was a used car porter.
