someone mentioned diesels being the future of racing, and you made the comment that diesels are slow....now you've been proven wrong, and youre still trying to defend yourself...you really should just shutup and call this a loss.... diesels are just as capable at making power as gas engines, and they do it much more efficiently, for cheaper....theres been several videos posted of diesels running single digits in the 1/4 mile, so to say that they run 18s and are slow, is wrong

Seriously, whats your education level?

1) It's called OT for a reason. The main topic is a VETTE WITH STACKS...Not a diesel. Hence, the topic moved to diesels, hence I'm defending petrol engines by using the fact that a 1.3L petrol engine has the same HP as your Audi.
2) LeManns- Also take into consideration driver skill and company finances(Audi). I'm sure Audi has enough money to make an electric car win the LeManns if they wanted to bad enough. So, yes a diesel won the LeManns, big deal.
3) You mentioned the LeManns now.

Please find the post where I said diesels are slow. Where I specifically said that.
Go on.

http://www.leftlanenews.com/chevrolet-corvette-zr1.html

6.2 supercharged for 638HP and 604TQ
That's 138 more HP, two less turbos, four less cylinders.
So, a twin turbo 6.2L v12 4v > ?

See my point?

not at all...there will always be a bigger more powerful engine... but saying diesels are slow is just a stupid comment... we can sit and compare engines all day, honda has a 3.5L v8 that makes 700hp...just because they have a tiny fast v8, doesnt make that 9 second diesel magically turn into an 18 second diesel

Your correct about the diesel comment. Not all diesels are slow.
The only diesels I've seen run at my tracks are the 'reverse-ricers' that think just because they have a diesel they should be running out LS3 corvettes and blown S197's. To me it's the same thing as kids in Honda's thinking a CAI and tune will turn their cars into

What I was trying to argue is that it's more efficient to mod a petrol engine to get the same or better power. Why mod a diesel when you can mod a petrol to get better results?
Diesels have their advantages: long life, fuel mileage, high torque at low RPMS, etc. Just not my cup of tea.

Truce?

i disagree with this comment 100%....but im done arguing it with you...dollar for dollar a diesel is cheaper to make power with... hell a handheld tuner alone can easily grant over 100 hp at the wheels on a diesel

truce

No. The Audi R10 produces 650HP and 811TQ out of a 5.5L engine WITH air intake restrictor plates.

It takes more, to do less with something that large.
can you tune a car to gain 150hp and 250tq with just a tune??? just getting an Edge w/ Attitude for my Duramax i can get those gains.
