Trust me, with the way CC marks up everything 50% is still too expensive...

I never bought anything there except for my daughters now ex boyfriend. I still have a $15 gift card from them that's now 14 months old. Still good, so i've been checking their website for something I need/want. Problem is their shipping is so expensive I may as well order it somewhere else and get free shipping. Ends up costing the same. or less.

better use that gift card ASAP before it becomes worthless... if it already hasn't.

and yeah, 50% off at circuit city make it about equal to the internet, maybe.

the one by me has looked like a half ran down piece of crap for years, and nobody was ever in there. i kinda compare them to kmart and BB to walmart.

of course they ALL suck ass.

oh yeah, i saw some thing on the news where they had some "specialist" run all kinds of fancy tests on cheap cables and expensive cables and there was virtually no difference.

that is true. the circuit city by me is all dark, the carpets are all either stained, or are some ugly color from 30 years ago, and the place as a whole just looks like trash. just the atmosphere alone of Best Buy makes me rather spend my money there. plus circuit city doesnt have half the inventory that best buy has.

exactly, and impressions when you walk into a place is almost as important (or maybe more) than anything else.

I am an ex employee of a year and a half, and have been eagerly awaiting this day for a long time now. F**k that company, I'm glad it's done. Sucks for those out of jobs, but most have known for a while that it was coming and have been searching around. I still have my best friend that works there. He's the one who called me at 8 am to tell me the news. Looking like all firedog techs are gunna be let go tomorrow with 60 days paid off. Thats what I use to be. Oh well, i'm gunna try to get a PS3 for cheap. He told me you'll be able to haggle with the liquidation.

My girlfriend is currently a manager for our local Best Buy while she's in college. We buy all of our cables there, as they are way overpriced.

We bought a $80 HDMI cable last week for $4, and have bought several $40 ethernet/misc cables for $1-$2.

With any cable that transmits a digital signal, there is little to no decrease in quality, so buying a $3242302 Monster cable is pointless. They are all the same.

I'm going to try out nearest Best Buy Sunday and see if I can get a good digital camcorder for cheap... gotta film that newborn baby!

+1, I worked there for 14 months as a sales rep. When I started I loved working there, but it is such a ****ing shady company. I was the very last person in the company to start at $10/hr, that was pretty BAMF though. :P

It really depended which store you went into for quality. The store I worked at was always clean, everything stocked and "laser lined" with semi-knowledgeable sales reps. I picked up a laptop for a customer at a neighboring store, and omfg it was disgusting. It was half the size, half the lights in the store had burnt out bulbs, stains everywhere. Lazy and unmotivated workers and managers, etc.
