not to be a debbie downer here.. but you're not getting off if you peeled out for a full second. You may get the racing part dropped, but here in cali, if you purposefully spin the tires you can get a ticket for exibition of speed easy and its just as bad.
i lolled at people still saying to use the newbie clutch excuse when he said it was an auto
maybe he could try it anyways? and if the cop remembered and said "no, your car is an auto" he could just say "oh yea, i forgot..." and all would be gravy

You will be able to get it reduced no problem I'm sure, especially with the help of your lawyer friends.
But seriously...a full second burnout? Good luck explaining that as an "Accident." A full second is definitely more than a chirp...we all know and drive these cars, and even the winter with low temps and lousy traction, we can ALL keep from spinning for a full second.
I don't necessarily agree with calling it racing though.

JLT/tune, Hurst, MBRP Axlebacks. Still slow, but fun
Yeah, this isn't gonna be taken completely away, but if your state is anything like NJ, a lawyer will probably be able to reduce it to a no point high fee infraction.
