the speed that shows up on your system tray's icon, is the speed youre connected to your router/modem, not the speed that the router is getting information from the ISP at.

My speed sits at 54 mbps at all times. Desktop at 100 mbps. Highest dl speed Ive had is 1051 kbps.
LOL do you realize how much internet would cost if you got 54Mbps???? The fastest home cable internet right now sits at about 25Mbps and here that is almost $90 a Month........I have the 10Mbps cable internet and thats about $35 a month
As for your download speed of 1051...that would be 1051 KBps....capitol K and B standard for Kilobytes....which is 1 Megabyte a second....if you use the lower case "b" then its Kilobits and you would take 1051 and divide by 8 and that would give you Kilobytes... which is about 131 KB.....1 / 10th of 1 Megabyte
