the only shtty thing about trying to go bitch about all the bad stuff now, is that itll be questioned why you didnt say anything then.. a guy at my last job went through something similar.. but he also had a valid reason to get fired...

your situation sucks, id file for unemployment and look for a new job, chances are with your qualifications you wont have a prob getting something new.. id just let it go, you cant teach scum lessons, they dont learn

I would at least try to file a complaint to his boss. Either that or go higher than him. Even if the place is a Hell hole, you still need a job and it's not just going to happen on it's own.

If someone can negotiate better pay than you - good for them - we aren't a communist country (yet, anyway). If you aren't satisfied with your pay, ask for more and if you don't get it decide if you want to quit or keep working - either way, it is your choice. If you keep working - earn your keep. It's that siimple.

If you don't like someone's work ethic and you make your boss aware of it and they don't do anything about it - you have to decide if that is acceptable or not and quit or keep earning you money. To keep harping on it isn't going to help.

If it's totally unethical, that's a different story. But, it doesn't sound that way to me.

Something I learned a long time ago:

Your pay grade, and the amount of work you do, are your business, and know one elses. Yes, your boss was an ass and unethical for doing what he did, but snooping on a coworker is also wrong.

What the nephew made and the amount of work he did was his business and his alone. In the end, you had a job and you did your job to the best of your ability, and you were payed for it. Now, its gone because you let how much someone else got payed bother you, it isn't worth it.

I hear guys bitch about that kind of stuff at my work all the time, and it isn't worth it. I always say, you do your job, let everyone else do theirs.

If you know how to market yourself, you'll always find a good job...

For consolation, one of my friend's wife was devastated when she lost her $50K job a few years back. Now she's making a six figure income and her company is growing, despite this uncertain economy.

If you're not gonna be in business for yourself, then you've got to work for people that will bring the best out of you, so you can be successful.

Good luck with the interviews.

Had you handled yourself differently with the boss and not told anyone you work with that you went to the head guy im pretty sure none of this would have happened.

oh and did I mention that our sales dept got raided 5 months ago for salesman selling drugs?Hell one of our porters used to roll joints in customes cars and get high in the wash bay.He actually dropped a dimebag right in the service isle,my boss fouund it and did not say anything and laughed about it.He "flushed"it down the toilet....Right.That place is full of so much BS,I think this may be a blessing in disguise. All the other techs I dont think want to get involved, they dont want to lose there jobs and most are ass kissers anyway. Its like a damn high school there.
plus that part REALLY shows you should have known NOT to smart off or attempt to do anything about it.

should have just started looking for a new job while you had a job
